Play Bridge at Halifax Bridge Club

Halifax Bridge Club is holding an Open Day on 6th February 2024 and running a new beginner course for adults in the new year.

Contract Bridge is a social, fun and challenging card game which benefits mental agility.  It requires skill and strategy and playing it regularly improves cognitive abilities such as memory, concentration, and problem-solving.

The game uses a standard pack of 52 cards and consists of four players in two competing partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other at a table. Bridge is also a social activity promoting interaction and communication between players and reducing stress and improve mental health.

Halifax Bridge Club is running a new course for beginners starting in February and costing £30 including membership to the club.  An improvers course is also available for thos who have played before but need more practice.

Their next open day is Tuesday 6th February at 12.30pm and 7pm at their clubhouse at 44 Prescot Street, Halifax.

The club has 170 members and offers 8 playing sessions each week with morning, afternoon and evening play opportunities. They also hold online sessions for those who wish to play from the comfort of their home or out of area and host a social themed event when food and drinks are included with the bridge play.
