Transport & Travel

You qualify for a senior pass allowing free bus travel if you have reached the state pension age and are a permanent resident of West Yorkshire.  If you can’t apply onlilne, you can apply at a Bus Station Travel Centre.

West Yorkshire Metro – applying for or renewing your travel pass

Access Bus
WY Metro AccessBus provides a “dial-a-ride” door to door transport service mainly to local supermarkets to support independent living. They also provide transport for some voluntary sector social afternoons/lunch clubs etc. Anyone with an ENCS bus pass – either Senior, Disabled or Blind – will travel free of charge. For those without a bus pass, there is a £3 each way flat fare. You can register to use AccessBus and check availability by phoning 0113 3481903 or visiting their website.

The registration form should be filled in and posted to Access Bus, Wellington House, 40-50 Wellington Street, Leeds LS1 2DE.

Home Library Service
A free service offered to anyone living in Calderdale who is unable to visit their local library and who does not have anyone who can visit on their behalf. You may apply for the service if ill-health, disability, age or frailty mean that you are unable to visit a library. Call 01422 288062 or email HomeLibraryService@calderdale.gov.uk
