You can apply for or renew your senior travel pass online? It’s quick and easy to do and you can renew up to four weeks before it expires.
You qualify for a senior pass from West Yorkshire Metro if you have reached the state pension age and are a permanent resident of West Yorkshire. The pass allows you to get concessionary fares on buses and trains in the region.
To find out when you become eligible for your Senior Pass, check your State Pension age on the gov.uk website. You can apply for the pass four weeks before you reach state pension age.
If this is your first application, apply online here.
To renew your pass, apply online here.
You can apply online for a friend or relative by creating an account in your name and then adding them as a dependent.
Here is a video from West Yorkshire Metro, showing you how to renew online.
To apply online, you will need:
- An email address (one email address per account, you cannot open multiple accounts with the same email address)
- A passport style photo to upload from your computer, tablet or smartphone
- A valid UK passport or driving licence (so that we can verify your age).
If you can’t apply online, you can apply at a Bus Station Travel Centre. You will need to take proof of identity and date of birth (eg. passport or driving licence) and proof that you are a resident of West Yorkshire (such as a bill showing your address).
Lost or stolen passes
There is a £5 fee to replace a lost or damaged Senior Pass. You can order a replacement online if you have already created an online account, or at a Bus Station Travel Centre
