Register To Vote For Local & Mayoral Elections, 6 May

On Thursday 6 May 2021, Calderdale residents will be voting for their Local Government Councillors and for the first time, a Combined Authority Mayor for West Yorkshire. In some areas there will also be Parish/Town Council by-elections.

There are a number of ways to have your say in May – you can vote in person in a polling station, by post, or by appointing someone you trust to vote on your behalf, known as a proxy vote.

If you are not registered, you can do so here. It only takes five minutes so you can do it while you run a bath or wait for your tea to brew.

This year we are encouraging you to consider voting by post. This saves a trip to the polling station and offers a safe and secure method of voting, which is particularly important due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
