24 OCTOBER: ‘Vivace!’ Promises an Unforgettable Journey in Sound as three of Yorkshire’s finest brass bands unite at Huddersfield Town Hall for an afternoon of spectacle, drama, tenderness and sheer musical exhilaration.
Prepare to be swept from the colour of a Roman carnival to the stillness of evening prayer, from aircraft racing across open skies to the excitement of Broadway, and from ancient processions to music that may quite literally have the audience dancing in the aisles.
Brighouse & Rastrick Band, Marsden Band and Skelmanthorpe Band, join forces at Huddersfield Town Hall for “Vivace!”, a spectacular massed bands concert conducted by Dr David Thornton. This concert is more than a showcase for outstanding brass playing. It celebrates music’s ability to create pictures without scenery, tell stories without words and stir emotions ranging from laughter and exhilaration to tenderness and awe.
It is also a celebration of Yorkshire’s proud brass band tradition. Brighouse & Rastrick, Marsden and Skelmanthorpe bring generations of musical heritage, skill and community spirit to the stage.
