16 OCTOBER: Home Energy Event at Foundry Street Community Centre in Sowerby Bridge on Friday 16 October.
The event is aimed at helping local residents understand the different ways they can make their homes warmer, more energy efficient and cheaper to run, as well as giving people the opportunity to speak directly with local organisations and businesses for practical, impartial advice.
There will be advice and support available on:
- Practical ways to reduce heat loss and energy use
- Advice on heat pumps, solar and other home improvements from local businesses
- Support if you’re struggling with energy bills or fuel debt
- Grants and funding that may be available to improve your home’s energy efficiency
- Advice on property assessments
- Advice for landlords, including Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES)
- Support for community organisations looking to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings
- Information about local community energy and community buy in schemes

The event is free to attend, with no booking required, and there will be free tea, coffee and cake too!
