Ongoing work at Huddersfield Bus Station has resulted in a number of changes to the services and facilities normally on offer. As of 9 August 2026, the following changes are in place:
Security Office
The Security Office in the bus station will close from the start of service on Wednesday 5 August.
If members of the public need assistance after this date, they can:
- Speak to security staff on the concourse, or
- Visit the Travel Centre, where staff can contact security by radio if needed.
Public Toilets
The current bus station toilets will be closed.
Temporary toilet facilities will be available in Macaulay Square. These can be accessed by leaving the bus station by the main entrance and following Upperhead Row to the right.
Travel Centre
The Travel Centre will remain in its current location
Support during the works
To help passengers during this period:
- Clear signs and directions will be displayed throughout the bus station.
- Additional staff will be available around the dates of the changes to provide help and guidance.
- Information will be shared through email, posters, social media and the WyWeaver website.
- Easy Read information will be available.
- Information can be provided in alternative formats on request by emailing TransportProjects@westyorks-ca.gov.uk.
