What The Event Organisers Say:

Todmorden Folk Festival takes place every year over the May Day bank holiday weekend.

The core of our music happens at concerts in beautiful indoor, seated venues around the town (please see our programme for more details of the schedule); there are also free events, dancing and outdoor entertainments throughout the weekend:

  • Festival cafe – Central Methodist Church, 10 – 5 Saturday
  • Craft fair – Central Methodist Church, 10 – 5 Saturday
  • Morris dancing – various locations, Saturday and Sunday
  • Free outdoor music stage with pop-up local food/drink vendors – Oxford Street car park, 12 – 5.30 Sunday
  • Music/singing sessions

We have delicious home-made hot food (with veggie, vegan and GF options), cakes, hot and cold beverages and a bar available at several of our events.

We hold various workshops over the weekend. In the past we’ve had workshops on singing, dancing, songwriting, instrumental techniques and storytelling – these are different each year and more info can be found here.

We hold a dedicated free kid’s program in Pollination Street Gardens on the Saturday of the festival. More info can be found here.
