West Yorkshire’s new Adult Cycle Training Instructor course is ready and they have their first set of funded courses booked in.
The course is delivered by Cycle North and accredited by the Open College Network. The course will prepare students to deliver learn to ride and level one of our adult cycle training programme. The qualification will not qualify you to deliver Bikeability in schools or to deliver on road cycle training.
The course is a two-day course. Day One covers the core materials such as risk assessment, and skills for delivering learn to ride and basic cycle skills. Day Two covers route planning, ride leader skills and supporting learners with additional needs.
The course is fully funded for people who intend to deliver adult cycle training in West Yorkshire. They are running 5 courses, one in each local authority area. These are:
- 5th-6th May – Mixenden Activity Centre, Halifax
- 9th-10th May – Capital of Cycling Bradford
- 11th– 12th May – Firestation, Slaithwaite
- 13th-14th – Wakefield, location tbc
- TBC Leeds course.
