25 to 29 MARCH: All Souls Amateur Operatic Society perform the musical Kiss me Kate at Halifax Playhouse.
Kiss Me Kate is a play within a play, offering a clever and comedic glimpse into the delightful chaos of putting on a stage production.
The musical’s story revolves around a theatre company preparing to perform Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.
However, the drama among the cast and crew quickly spirals out of control, mirroring the fiery relationships in Shakespeare’s classic tale.
It’s a masterful blend of humour, romance, and show-stopping musical numbers such as “Another Op’nin’, Another Show”, “I Hate Men”, “Wunderbar” and “Too Darn Hot”.
When: Wednesday 25 to Sunday 29 March. Evenings at 7.15pm. Saturdy and Sunday matinee at 2.15pm.
Where: The Halifax Playhouse, West Yorkshire, HX1 2SH.
