Are you aged over 50 with a few spare hours each month and interested in local issues which affect the lives of older people in Calderdale?
Calderdale Forum 50 Plus has recently secured National Lottery Community Funding to support its work and is now looking for two new committee members who understands the needs and concerns of older people in our community and can represent us at community events and meetings focused on ageing issues.
The Forum is a voluntary group dedicated to supporting older people in Calderdale through our news and information service and working with local organisations to represent the views of older people.
As a committee member, we would like you to:
- Attend our bi-monthly committee meetings to represent people aged over-50
- Engage with other groups aimed at supporting older people
- Contribute to our popular website and newsletters by highlighting news and events of interest to older people
- Occasionally represent us at age-friendly meetings and events.
If you are aged over-50, have an interest in making Calderdale an age-friendly borough, enjoy meeting people and have time to commit, we would love to hear from you. Some experience of working in a commercial, charity or public sector role or of volunteering would be helpful but not essential.
Applications are invited from people who live in, work in, or have another connection to Calderdale.
Contact us today on info@calderdaleforum50plus or call Julie Ingham on 07791 106648 to learn more about this new opportunity!
