14 NOVEMBER: Todmorden Orchestra perform an Autumn concert in the glorious surroundings of Todmorden Town Hall
Our 2026–27 season opens with one of classical music’s best-loved works: Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez for guitar and orchestra, with soloist Richard Haslam.
Inspired by the gardens of a royal Spanish palace, it’s a piece full of sunshine and longing. If you’ve seen Brassed Off, you’ll remember the famous “Concerto de Orange Juice” tune in the slow movement, played on flugelhorn in the film.
Around it sits a programme of contrasts: Doreen Carwithen’s stormy seascape Bishop Rock, Lili Boulanger’s radiant D’un Matin de Printemps, and César Franck’s magnificent Symphony in D minor.
When: Saturday 14 November at 7.30pm.
Where: Todmorden Town Hall.
Tickets £14 plus concessions available (£12 and £3).
Available online, at Todmorden Information Centre and Water Street Gallery, or by calling 0333 666 3366.
