Details: Friends of Shaw Park are a welcoming community of volunteers who come together to care for one of Calderdale’s most beautiful green spaces. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or simply curious to lend a hand, there’s a place for you here—no experience needed, just enthusiasm!
Shaw Park is an absolutely beautiful park in Holywell Green, set on a hillside looking out to the Calderdale countryside. The park has some fascinating Grade II listed buildings, an ornamental lake, a wildlife pond, a well and a playground.
We don’t just do general gardening, we create new gardens and features in the park, maintain benches and run community events. So there is plenty of variety!
