Support When Your Caring Role Ends

If the person you were caring for has moved into a care home or has died, you may find yourself having to adapt to life without them. It can be hard to adjust to the emotional and practical changes this brings. But you don’t have to cope on your own. There is support available and the older person’s organisation, Independent Age, has compiled information and advice on the subject.

If you are currently receiving a carer’s benefit, it is essential to report any changes in your circumstances. If you’re no longer providing care for someone, your financial situation may have changed. Call Independent Age’s free Helpline on 0800 319 6789 for a benefits check or use their benefits calculator .

Take a look at their webpages When your caring role ends | Independent Age and When someone dies | Independent Age for information and advice on the practicalities you may have to deal with, as well as the emotional support you may need to help you adapt to the change.
