Calderdale Library Service

Opening hours are:

Central Library: Tuesday to Saturday 10 – 4.
Brighouse, Hebden Bridge, King Cross, Sowerby Bridge & Todmorden: Monday to Saturday 10 – 4.

Services include:

  • Choosing your own books in each library
  • Returning or collecting pre-ordered items
  • Local study facilities at Central Library by appointment.  Email reference.library@calderdale.gov.uk or ring 01422 392631.
  • Visits to children’s areas may need to be pre-booked so please contact your local library.

All items currently on loan are due back on the 31st March, 2021.

Online facilities

Home Library Service – a free service offered to anyone living in Calderdale who is unable to visit their local library and who does not have anyone who can visit on their behalf. You may apply for the service if ill-health, disability, age or frailty mean that you are unable to visit a library. Call 01422 288062 or email HomeLibraryService@calderdale.gov.uk

Christmas Closures

Central Library, Brighouse, King Cross & Sowerby Bridge will be closed from 1pm on Thursday 24th December and will reopen on Monday 4th January.

Hebden Bridge and Todmorden Libraries will be closed on Thursday 24th December & reopen on Monday 4th January.

We hope that everyone can enjoy a lovely Christmas whilst also staying safe & that 2021 can bring more of a return to normality!
