Healthy Minds workshops

These online workshops from Calderdale’s Staying Well Hub will help improve mental health and promote feelings of wellness.  You can try a variety of fun exercises including crafting for free. Participants had the opportunity to tap into their creativity and many reported that the process of making and connecting with others have been helpful with their wellbeing. No experience is necessary, just the willingness to have a go! Join us in a friendly, supportive environment.

New Recovery Group (CHIME) once every month (5 sessions in total)

The group will explore key themes about recovery in mental health: Connectedness,
Hope and Optimism, Identity, Meaning in Life and Empowerment; exploring how
these themes relate to our personal recovery journey.
Please note: this is a closed group for people who have attended workshops, groups
and courses with Healthy Minds.

Regular Healthy Minds groups

Arts and Crafts for Wellbeing – 1st and 3rd Mondays of the Month, 6-7.30pm
A light hearted space for people to make some creative connections. Each session is
themed and past activities have included mask making, Zentangling and origami.

Outdoors-in 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, 2-3.30pm
Each session is based on an outdoor topic, including all things allotments and
nature. The group bring a contribution to the session in a ‘show and tell’ format, have
fun and learn new things.

Anxiety and Depression Peer-Support groups, twice monthly
A peer-support telephone group for those who would like to access peer support but
prefer not to use Zoom video link. The groups are a safe and non-judgmental space
and offer structure, guidance and support for those experiencing anxiety and

Social Zoom Group every Monday morning
Join for a catch-up, cuppa and chat every Monday morning via Zoom. The group
is light and loosely structured – based on the ideas and interests of group member
and is a chance to find out about upcoming events in Healthy Minds and local area.
So get in touch and join us… do bring your own brew though!

Other Activities

Calderdale Library Service have added an additional eAudio book service called uLIBRARY. You can access this service by: Downloading the uLIBRARY app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store or visiting Calderdale uLIBRARY in a web browser!

Calderdale Museums have launched a new online exhibition page, where you can view a gallery of art, including the Shibden Hall collection of 15 oil paintings.

Singing for the Brain sessions from The Alzheimer’s Society run weekly from 1 June 2020 on Wednesdays from 4pm to 5pm. The sessions use Zoom but can also be accessed by telephone if individuals do not have access to or are comfortable with the relevant technology/internet.  Find out more and see a live singing event
