Calderdale Council has again opened a community fund for local groups to bid for to help celebrate International Day of Older Person’s (IDOP) in 2023.
Following the success of last year’s celebrations when a number of groups serving the older community hosted parties and gatherings across Calderdale, we are again working with Calderdale Council to invite voluntary and community organisations who support people aged 50 plus (World Health Organisation definition) to help celebrate the International Day of Older Persons 2023.
Small grants of up to £400 are available from Calderdale Council to organisations that can provide and promote a single event that is accessible to older people, their carers, family and friends.
Small grants can cover costs including, event advertisement materials, refreshments and catering, entertainment, venue hire, and discretionary transport.
Events should aim to increase social participation, promote wellbeing, and celebrate positive images of older people ageing well in Calderdale and must be open access to new members where possible and must run between Monday 25th September and Friday 27th October 2023.
The grant can be used to cover event promotional materials, refreshments and catering, entertainment, venue hire, and discretionary transport.
The deadline for applications is noon on Friday the 1 September 2023 and applications should be returned by email to Justin Magner, Senior Public Health Practitioner at Calderdale Council: Justin.magner@calderdale.gov.uk
For questions and queries contact Justin on 07745 206164.
