Autumn Gigs at Wadsworth Community Centre

Wadsworth Community Centre has announced its Autumn programme of folk music.

Saturday 30th September: Sam Kelly and Jamie Francis Duo.

Having already recorded and produced over 10 acclaimed records, had multiple live sessions and airplay on BBC Radio 2 and 3, and his music regularly featured on Sky Arts,  Sam Kelly opens the Autumn series of gigs.  You can expect to hear haunting harmonies, soaring tunes and melodies, charming anecdotes and instrumental performances of the highest calibre, all led by Sam’s unmistakable vocals.  Cask Ale, Pie and Peas and a Warm Welcome included.

Saturday 21st October: Jack Rutter and special guest Chris Brain.

Holmfirth based Jack Rutter has established himself as one of the standout voices of the folk, roots and acoustic music scene in recent years. A hugely engaging stage presence, his soaring vocal, powerhouse guitar and bouzouki playing and masterful arrangements of traditional songs and contemporary covers have enthralled audiences from the largest festival main stages to the most intimate folk clubs.

Chris Brain released his debut, critically acclaimed and widely distributed album, Bound to Rise, in 2022, driven by his distinctive fingerpicked guitar and warm vocals. Chris is releasing his much anticipated second album on 6th October. album just in time for this gig.

Saturday 11th November: Steve Tilston playing with Hugh Bradley.

A home village gig for Steve who can walk to the venue! Steve will be accompanied by Hugh Bradley and also on some songs by Pete Dilley who opens the evening.
