During the Spring, Calderdale Forum 50 Plus has been working on a new project, called 3-2-1 Walks.
Friday 9th June was the official launch of the project, which was hosted by the Space@Field Lane community centre in Rastrick.
A number of local people, including children from Field Lane primary school and staff from the Calderdale Staying Well Hub joined us for the launch event, which included led-walks on the 3-2-1 Rastrick routes, followed by refreshments at the Space@Field Lane. Anthony Whittaker, Active Calderdale Community Project Manager, was also on hand to help launch the walks and he joined us for a couple of the led-walks.
3-2-1 Walks has been developed with funding from Active Calderdale, a Calderdale Council initiative which “works with communities to make physical activity a part of everyday life in Calderdale”. The Space@Field Lane also provided support, through their knowledge of the local area.
If you want to try the walks for yourself, you can pick up a walks guide at the Space@Field Lane, which is open Wednesdays 9am – 11:00am and 12pm – 2pm, plus Fridays 12pm – 2pm (when you can also take advantage of their excellent cafe!). The Space also has its own walking club and exercise classes.
