Brackenbed Park/Shroggs Tip Balsam Bash & Picnic

Sunday 25 June, 10am

This year, for the Great Get Together, Pellon Together invite you to meet at the picnic benches at Brackenbed Park (AKA Shroggs Tip) to balsam bash and litter pick the area.  Followed by a picnic so please feel free to bring along some food or drinks to enjoy or share.

They will provide all the equipment but you may wish to bring your own gloves. Disposable gloves will be available.

All our environmental action days are good fun and a lovely way to join in the camaraderie with likeminded people and we think a great way to mark The Great Get Together.

Japanese balsam is a non-native and invasive plant that crowds out native species and creates damaging mono cultures. It is an annual plant so must be pulled up before it goes to seed in late summer. The roots are shallow so it’s easy to get up and is quite fun!
