Have your say on the Electoral Review

The Local Government Boundary Commission is undertaking a formal review of the Calderdale’s ward boundaries; it has been 20 years since they were last reviewed. This process is carried out independently of Calderdale Council.

The Commission is minded to recommend that 54 councillors should be elected to the council in future. They launched a public consultation on 23 May, seeking views on where the boundaries of the new wards should be.

The initial consultation will close on the 31 July 2023.

At the end of October, it will then publish some initial recommended changes for Calderdale Council and seek your views on them. It is expected that the final proposals will be published next year and the first election of the new-look Council will take place in 2026.
