Calderdale Forum 50 Plus is holding its 2023 AGM on Tuesday 16 May at 10.30am at The Shay Stadium in Halifax.
Join us at our AGM and find out more about our work and hear the results of our 2023 Accessibility Survey.
We are a voluntary group that supports and represents people aged 50 and over in Calderdale and highlights information and issues which are useful and important to this age group. We run this website: the only online newspaper focused on older people in Calderdale; signposting and connecting older people to local groups, clubs, societies, charities, as well as events and service providers. We also collate guidance on key later life issues such as housing, benefits and finance, care of all kinds and physical and mental health.
In 2020 we were nominated for a Community Spirit award for our communications during the COVID-19 crisis.
We are run by a small management committee and are represented on Calderdale Council’s Age Well Alliance Board and Age Friendly Engagement Groups. The results of our 2023 Accessibility Survey will be presented at the meeting.
Everyone with an interest in older people in Calderdale is welcome to attend and join the discussions which follow the official business of the meeting.
We are looking for two new members to complement the management committee’s existing skills. People with an interest in improving the lives of older people who have experience in the commercial, public or charitable sectors are particularly welcome to apply. We are also looking for applicants who can represent the older Asian community in Calderdale.
