Suicide Prevention “Language Guide”

Do you know what to say if you think someone is suicidal?

Here is a new “language guide” to help show the importance of non-stigmatising, compassionate language. The West Yorkshire Suicide Prevention Programme has published a guide called ‘Creating hope through language’ which stresses how powerful language can sometimes be when it comes to suicide.

There will also be a session on Microsoft Teams on creating hope through language – suicide prevention, on 27 March at 10am. You are welcome to attend the whole meeting if helpful too.
