Artworks is a thriving community space dedicated to helping local people develop their artistic talents or simply take time out to improve their mental health & wellbeing through art.
Join them on Saturday 10th December from 1 to 4pm to find out more about what Artworks does, meet some of their resident artists, and try your hand at some creative activities. Included is:
- Arts & crafts
- Studio Tours
- Tasters of courses and workshops
- Tea, coffee and cake.
Based in a grade II listed former textile mill on the outskirts of Halifax town Centre the Artworks building is beautiful, spacious, full of history and bursting with creativity. It is also a ‘naturally cold’ working space for artists and creatives so they recommend wrapping up warm in practical clothing when visiting to take part in activities.
Artworks whose patron is Sir Quentin Blake KBE run artist led courses and workshops that are suitable for all abilities and offer in person teaching where materials are included as well as home learning activities that make use of materials regularly found around the home.
Other events in December include:
Festive woodcut prints on the 3rd from 10am.
Recycled Festive Crafts and Kids Saturday Art club – also on 3rd,
Copper Wreath making on Tuesday 13th from 10am.
Salt dough sculptures for children and young people on Monda 19th.
There’s no need to register for the open day, just turn up from 1pm to 4pm to:
The Everybody School of Art
Shaw Lane
