Spooky Shibden
What dark and macabre secrets does Shibden Hall hold? What phantoms and beasts hide in the dark woods? Join us on Friday 28th October, for a walk through the narrow and shadow-filled rooms of haunted Shibden as you listen to tales of terror and stories of the supernatural. Anne Lister Monument
Stone carvers are nearing completion of a monument to Anne Lister adjacent to Shibden in the Dry Stone Walling display area. Carvers from the Women’s International Stone Alliance who initiated the project will be hosting an official unveiling this Sunday 11th September at 2pm, with special guest Helena Whitbread. The event is open to all.

Smith Art Gallery, Brighouse
Over forty creative writers and photographers have come together to take part in the Calderdale Grid Project, organised by the Halifax Photographic Society. Discover a fascinating mix of words and images in this exhibition, as the region is looked at in a new and creative way. FREE ENTRY. Open until 27th February 2023.

South Asian Heritage @ Bankfield

Bankfield Museum is sharing some of its collection of South Asian textiles and art alongside contemporary objects of importance in collaboration with Halifax Opportunities Trust and the local British Asian community. Exhibition open until 25th March 2023.

Fashion in Anne Lister’s Time
Bankfield Museum’s top floor Fashion Gallery is currently home to original costume and textiles from the period of Anne Lister (1791-1840). FREE ENTRY. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays 10am to 4pm.

Shibden 600 exhibition
Shibden’s 600-year anniversary exhibition is also at Bankfield Museum, exploring the history of the Hall, its owners, residents, workers, and role as a museum. Open until 25th February 2023. FREE ENTRY. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays 10am to 4pm.
