Age UK run a shop, hire and service facility from their Mobility Centre in Halifax Woolshops.
The well-stocked shop offers a range of mobility options for sale or hire as well as mobility living aids, stairlifts and walk-in baths and showers.
This service is open to anyone, young or old, whether their disability is temporary or permanent. You do not need to be registered disabled or resident in the area.
All scooters and power chair prices are priced at Age UK rates, usually less than the manufacturer’s recommended retail price.
You can rent for a few hours to do your shopping or you can rent longer term for holidays or recuperation.You have a choice of:
- Powered scooters for use in town
- Small scooters that can fold up and fit into the boot of a car
- Manual wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs
- Wheeled walkers
- Ramps
When renting a scooter for the first time they ask you to bring a form of identification. Full training is given to new users and everyone is escorted on their first visit to ensure their safety.

How much does it cost?
£5 for up to 3 hours in the town centres and 50p for every additional half hour.Up to 6 month rental also available on all products.
Their shop is located in Halifax Woolshops Shopping Centre – near to M&S.
Mobility scooter servicing and repair
They provide a breakdown, servicing and repair service for your own scooter. You can bring the scooter to their shop or they can come out to you.
Opening Hours
10am to 3pm weekdays and Saturdays. The shop is closed on Sundays.
