Calderdale Heritage Walks: Summer programme

Calderdale Heritage Walks have released details of their Spring and Summer walks 2022.

The programme includes walks from April to October 2022, with most taking place on Sundays with occasional Saturday, Bank Holiday and summer evening events.

Most walks are circular lasting 2 to 2¼ hours and those are fairly easy walking – normally on surfaced paths.  A few walks are a little longer, use rural paths or are harder walking – there will be a note in the text about those.  Walks suitable for powered wheelchairs are shown by the wheelchair symbol wheelchair (though a short diversion may be needed in places).  Almost all starting points are served by public transport.  Well behaved dogs on lead are allowed on walks unless indicated by the symbol  NO DOGS.

Highlights of the programme:

Thursday 14 April – Anne Lister means business.

Sunday 17 April (Easter Sunday) – Wainhouse Trail.

Sunday 23 April – Mock marriages and effigy burning.

Sunday 15 May – Transport & industry in Todmorden.

Sunday 26 June – Outlaws & nuns.

Sunday 24 July – Dobroyd Castle.

Sunday 28 August – Heptonstall Shadows.
