Community Transport Calderdale need volunteer drivers!

Community Tranpsort Calderdale (CTC), the community transport service urgently need more volunteer drivers as demand for their service increases!

With lockdown restrictions now ended, more older and disabled people without access to their own transport are hoping to get out and about again and return to normal life.  But without more volunteer drivers, the CTC service can’t meet this growing demand.

Volunteers are the backbone of the CTC service, taking people to the shops, GP or healthcare appointments, community groups or trips out to a favourite destination.

If you enjoy driving, have access to your own transport, a little spare time each week and enjoy helping others, then they would love to hear from you.

All volunteers are paid mileage to cover fuel costs and wear & tear and all service users have to pay a small membership fee to join the scheme.

If you are interested, then the team at CTC will arrange an informal chat to go through the opportunities and what’s involved. This gives you the chance to find out more about how the service works and what’s involved.

What about Covid?
They have measures in place that we expect volunteers and clients to follow in order to keep any risks to a very low level
