Working in Wood Exhibition comes to Calderdale Industrial Museum

A new exhibition featuring the amazing wood carvings of Anthony Griffiths, runs from Saturday 29th January until April 23rd.

Ripponden based woodcarver Anthony Griffiths started designing and making wooden children’s toys in the 1970’s and then spent a year working for Essex Museums, where he was involved in both museum interpretation and exhibition development.

Anthony’s work is quite stunning in its quality of execution, and his imaginative creations are an absolute delight.  The museum is currently showing about 20 pieces in their new exhibition space, and these will be refreshed with new works approximately every 3 weeks.  Full details here:

After retirement, Anthony has continued with his love of craftsmanship in wood. In his workshop in Ripponden, he now concentrates on producing original and diverse carvings in both native and recycled materials.
