Taking part in the Great Big Green Week
Calderdale Council is taking part in the national climate action campaign, the Great Big Green Week. As well has highlighting climate initiatives, the Council is also showing how littering can blight communities and impact the natural environment around Calderdale.
On Monday, the Council demonstrated the vast amount of waste collected by Council workers in a normal weekend in Calderdale. Teams collected over six tonnes of waste, the majority of which was plastic bottles, cans and paper cups that could have been recycled.

Access improvements complete at Rastrick Library
Visitors to Rastrick Library can now enjoy improved access, following the completion of work to install a new ramp.
Rastrick Library was built in 1912 and retains many grand original features, but the building previously suffered with poor accessibility, with a set of steep steps making it difficult for those with wheelchairs, pushchairs or mobility problems to visit the library.
In addition to access improvements, work has also taken place to the gardens in front of the library.
