More information about Pellon High Five
High Five began as a Calderdale Neighbourhood Schemes initiative and is now an independent, self-organised group.
They have a committee of 8 members each active within classes registering, taking money & representing the committee at the activities and attending regular meetings.
They now have five paid tutors – for Tai Chi, Singing for Fun, Line Dancing, and Monday’s Art class at New Hope. Other sessions are run by volunteers. Two committee members run an indoor Kurling session. There are also two Gentle Exercise classes at Highgate together with two Pilates classes at different venues and a Scottish Dancing class.
All of these activities are designed to keep an older group of people fit, independent and socialising.
The group currently uses four different venues.
