EXHIBITION: Rebuilding Elland Bridge

A selection of photographs taken over a 12 month period by local photographer Mike Bentley, documenting the demolition and rebuilding of Elland Bridge which was severely damaged by the Boxing Day floods in 2015 will be at Smith Art Gallery in Brighouse from 12th August – 11th November 2017.

The exhibition shows some of the work and people involved in reinstating this 200 year old listed bridge and reveals what now lies hidden just below its surface. It also includes ephemera associated with the rebuilding works provided by the Canal & River Trust and others.

Mike will provide a brief personal introduction to the exhibition during the official opening at 2pm on Saturday August 12th. During the opening afternoon it is hoped that a representative from the Canal & River Trust will be present.

Refreshments will be provided.

The exhibition has been kindly sponsored by The Canal & River Trust, CPC Civils Ltd. and Calderdale Museums Service. Enquiries please contact Mike via email: mwbentley@virginmedia.com.
