Age UK are running a Carers & Cared for Consultation Day on Friday 24th March at Age UK, Ground Floor, Rimani House, Hall St, Halifax, HX1 5BD. Arrive at 12.30 for a buffet lunch followed by consultation. Finish 3pm.
Age UK would like to talk to as many carers and the people they care for as possible about what sort of services they want from Calderdale Carers and Weekend Care. They are particularly looking for carers who want a break, such as chance to potter about on their own, meet old friends, reconnect with a hobby, or maybe even have a couple of hours at the hairdresser without worry. They also want to listen to those people who are being cared for and help them to have a say in how that break could work for them.
This consultation will form the basis of a bid to secure future services that support carers to have regular breaks. It will also ensure that the people they care for are able to access a break service that suits them and their personal needs and choices.
