TRAVEL: Parking charges to change

Notices are going up this week, to inform road users of changes to parking charges on street and in car parks across Calderdale.

From Monday 27 March, tariff amendments will be introduced in existing pay and display areas across the borough. In some areas, like Halifax town centre, this will mean an increase, while in others, like Elland, a reduced rate has been introduced to help increase footfall.

Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, Cllr Barry Collins, said:

“Parking charges in Calderdale are low when compared to other nearby towns and cities. We’ve looked carefully at tariffs right across Calderdale and are working on a programme to ensure that they now reflect the individual requirements of each town, with charges reducing in some areas and increasing in others.”
