The Lifeline Project is looking for Over 50’s champions to support them with a new project.
More than a third of the UK population is over the age of 50 both nationally and in Calderdale. It is estimated that 1 in 5 older men and 1 in 10 older women are drinking enough to harm themselves.
Lifeline recognise that this group of the population have different needs. They are delivering a project to specifically deliver key prevention messages across Calderdale, so that over 50’s become more informed to make choices about their alcohol consumption and are equipped to support their positive health and wellbeing in the future.
They are looking for volunteers who are passionate about older peoples issues and/or those who have a keen interest in the education and prevention of harmful alcohol use.
You will be given access to a broad range of training and development opportunities, and any expenses accrued will be reimbursed following discussion with your volunteer coordinator. If you can commit to 3 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months, Lifeline would be delighted to hear from you. Please get in touch with Hannah Jarvis on 01422 258800 to find out more.
